The Club met at the OPC on December 17th to learn about Meals on Wheels (MOW), sing some holiday songs, and write messages on holiday cards for Meals on Wheels clients.

OPC’s Meals on Wheels program is designed for seniors who cannot shop and/or prepare meals. It allows seniors to age in place and encourages independence for those who wish to remain in their homes for as long as possible. However, OPC’s MOW Program is more than a meal. Volunteers provide a wellness check and deliver a hot, nutritious meal to homebound seniors. There is no waiting list, and meals are received within 24 hours of request. Since 2023, OPC has delivered over 92,000 meals!
Meals are available seven days a week (five hot and two frozen) and delivered in NE Oakland County.

Eligibility and Service Options:

  • 60 years of age and older
  • Unable to grocery shop and/or prepare nutritious meals
  • No income requirements
  • Short-term options available while recuperating or rehabilitating
  • If you’re not eligible for this program, a hot noon-time meal is available Monday through Friday at Auburn Hills, Brandon, Lake Orion, and OPC
Putting Service Above Self Rotarians can do good for others while enjoying the weekly meetings and club activities.
