Every spring, the Rochester area is treated to an evening of elegance at Bordine’s Nursery, where the fragrance of spring flowers intertwines with the aroma of some of the area’s best dishes. The occasion? The Rochester Rotary Club hosts the annual Wine and Beer Tasting fundraising event. Against the backdrop of beautiful blooms and contemporary melodies, guests indulge in a delightful array of wine, beer, and culinary delights from some of the region’s most esteemed restaurants.
Marc Howland, co-founder of Breadless, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “We had so much fun participating in the Rochester Rotary Wine and Beer Tasting event and are extremely honored to receive the People’s Choice Best Taste Award. This recognition is particularly meaningful as it reflects the community’s appreciation for our commitment to crafting flavorful offerings that cater to a wide spectrum of people.”
Jeff Duperon, a member of the organizing committee for the event, emphasized the collective effort behind the event's success. “The event succeeds with the generosity of so many - the participating restaurants, the wine and beer vendors, the band, the silent auction item donators, our host, Bordine’s Nursery, the sponsors, and the guests that attend and enjoy the event.”
Kyle Johnson, event Chair, highlighted the event's impact on the local community. “Raising almost $35,000, this is one of the Rochester Rotary Club’s largest fundraisers. Events like this allow the club to serve the local community with scholarships while supporting local charities like Neighborhood House, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Paint Creek Center for the Arts, New Day Foundation, Grace Centers for Hope, and more.”
In addition to supporting local initiatives, the Rochester Rotary Club contributes to Rotary International’s global endeavors, including efforts to eradicate polio and ensure clean drinking water worldwide.
