Rochester Rotary Club RotoScoop December 11, 2018

The meeting was opened by President Rodney Hulbert who led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, the 4-way test and then we all sang "God Bless America."  The invocation was given by Christine Hage.  62 out of 108 members and 2 guests were present for today's meeting.  Our pianist, Paula d'Ambrosio played holiday music as we enjoyed our lunch and table conversation.

SHERIFF
Instead of a sheriff's report, President Rodney led us in a fun game of trivia by tables.  Many fines were incurred.  $218 in fines for Rotary Scholarships, bringing the YTD total to around $5,560 toward our $11,000 goal.  PLEASE NOTE: fines are now $5.  Thank you everyone!

PROGRAM
Tierney Czartoski was introduced as our speaker.  She is the Makerspace Specialist at the Rochester Hills Public Library.  Makerspace is a space to create, make, and express one's creativity through a variety of means.  She discussed the equipment that is available for use:  Button Maker, Die-Cut Machine, Lulzbot Mini 3D Printer (which she brought today), Lulzbot Taz 6 3D Printer, Makey Makey, Raspberry Pi, Silhouette Cameo two Vinyl Cutter, Silhouette Portrait Vinyl Cutter, VHS to DVD converter, and Glowforge Laser Cutter.  Makerspace has been a great resource for all ages and another great addition to the Rochester Hills Public Library.  Tierney brought along some samples of what can be created by this equipment.  Her presentation created great discussion.  Thank you, Tierney!
President Rodney invited us to be generous next week as we bring our financial gifts for the Rivercrest.  Let's show our gratitude for another year of amazing service!

President Rodney closed the meeting at 1:18 p.m.
