You got fined if you – watched the GOP convention, you got fined more if you did not, if you collided with anything, trip on a curb, broke into a sweat while playing PokemonGo. We then learned and were summarily fined if, you knew a second language, knew that the Rosetta Stone was discovered in 1799 in Egypt; knew that Johannes Kepler published his Harmonices Mundi in 1599 mathematically proving that musical harmonies existing in space between the planets; knew that Donald Duck was banned in Finland; knew that 10 people per year are crushed to death by vending machines; knew that women do and can smell better than men and finally, that men who kis their wives goodbye when leaving each morning, live 5 years longer.
SPEAKER
President Nominee Rodney Hulbert introduced Brain Dunphy(Secretary and Treasurer) and Rod Wilson(Vice President) from the Film Society of Rochester. Rochester’s last downtown movie theater closed in 1984 a victum of the movement toward mega malls and “megaplex” theaters. Society is trying to raise $813,000 to renovate one of the two old theaters in downtown Rochester to show period or specialty movies currently not available at the malls. The intent is to provide a cultural and economic anchor for downtown Rochester. The old “Hills” location is preferred and the fund raising is in the “Angel” phase of seeking investment.
