President Wayne Hodges opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegience, then we sang This is My Country, and recited the modified Four Way Test. The invocation was given by Tom Jeroense, asking all present to remember that Rotary is open to people of every religion. With our friends beside us, no person beneath us, the bonds of Rotary between us, our worries behind us, and our goals before us, there is no task beyond us. President Wayne then spoke about the passing Jim Smalley, a dedicated Rotarian of 40 years. Lunch was served.

We had 53 members present, and 2 guests: John Buckert from Troy Rotary Club and Mike Link, past Rochester Rotary member and currently of the West Las Vegas Rotary Club.
15th HANDSHAKE
Sharon Reinke was proud to announce that Ted Roumell was the winner of this week's 15th Handshake award, enjoy the week without fines Ted!
HAPPY BUCKS
Alan Smith announced the Rochester Community House' fashion show at Twin Lakes.
Rhonda had a Rotary fellowship happy buck, returning from Rome and Sardinia, Italy, where she was hosted by the Italian Rotarians. Highlight of her trip was a tour of the Vatican given by the official guide of the US Embassy in Rome.
Bryan Barnett gave a happy buck for several Rotarians for assistance with hosting the National Conference of Mayors at the Royal Park, thanks so much to all that helped make it happen.
Janet Drobnich was thankful for the assistance at the Grace Center of Hope from several Rotarians and multiple Stony Creek Interact students. In addition, she was thankful for the Rotarians that helped with Operation Schoolbell, distributing coats, hats, gloves, etc. in Detroit. Thank you!
Alaina Campbell gave a happy buck for the Rochester Regional Chamber holding their 14th Annual Sunrise Pinnacle Awards Breakfast, honoring 20 individuals and businesses that contribute so much to our community.
Mike Link gave a happy buck for being here, enjoying the Iowa Michigan football game (not the game, but the atmosphere), and Rotary as a whole.
Beth Chilton was happy about the Arts and Apples festival a couple months ago, and the Pinnacle Award that the Center received at the RRCC awards breakfast.
ROTARIAN OF THE WEEK
The Rotarian of the Week, David Walker, gave the bejeweled trophy to Ron Lichtle, congrats Ron! Please don't use it well...
ANNOUNCEMENTS

Ron Diliddo discussed briefly the nominations procedure for filling vacancies on the board. We have four vacancies that need to be filled, the nominating committee will be meeting this Tuesday morning to discuss recommendations.
Ron Lichtle discussed the upcoming Christmas Party, save the date for December 19th (Thursday evening). A sign up sheet is forthcoming. He also discussed two potential dates for the past presidents dinner, April 6th or April 13th, 2020. The president's transition dinner will be June 30th at the calf barn at Van Hoosen Farms.
Janet McPeek gave a brief talk about our Polio involvement with Rotary International. Specifically, she discussed her observations in 2001 in the Phillipines where the first vaccines were administered. She noticed that there were several adults crawling on the ground, but also seeing that there weren't any younger people crawling, because they had received the Polio vaccine. Which was the specific time that Polio became real for her.
Steve Oehler then gave a poinsettia update, asking us to pick up a poinsettia envelope. Our theme for this year is Flowers for Food. OPC Meals on Wheels and Neighborhood House Food Pantry are our two named beneficiaries. We will need team members to work on sales, and drivers to deliver when the plants are ready.
President Wayne discussed our two "Meet the Author" meetings, please pick up a flyer on the table and put it up in your place of business.

Jim Fraser hits 46 years next week, and Russ Shelton celebrates his 26th anniversary as well.

SHERIFF'S REPORT
Bryan Barnett then fined us for as many things possible, focusing on man cards, Delta rewards miles, Tiger baseball, pizza, Lions football, college football, cider mills, road paving, pumpkin (and Old) Spice, elections, candy consumption, and Fluffernutters. Mayor Barnett raised $347 for our charities, thanks Bryan!
PROGRAM
David Eardley then introduced our speaker of the day, Mike Randolph. Mike has worked across many different aspects of the biopharmaceutical pharmaceutical industry, and is currently the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Par Pharmaceuticals in Rochester, MI. He spoke about multiple aspects of Par Pharmaceuticals, focusing on the history of the facility, progressing into what Par is doing today, including a broad product overview of the facility. Thanks very much for speaking to us today Mike, we appreciate it very much.
