PROGRAM
Ron Lichtle introduced today's speaker Army Veteran Tom Hess.  Tom was inspired to join  the Army following the attacks on 9/11.  Thank you, Wyatt and Christina, for a great presentation!  His mother wanted to him to wait and so he began his training at Fort Knox in March 2003.  He was there 22 weeks for an extended basic training and received distinguished honors at his graduation.  He was first sent to Germany before being deploy to Iraq.  They trained in northern Kuwait before going to the Sunni Triangle sector in 2004.  During his 15 months there they invaded Samarra and dealt with the counter-insurgency and their use of ieds and vehicle bombs.  He encouraged us to care for our veterans and give them a chance to be a success in their work and life.  We are grateful for Tom's service to our country.
