SPEAKER
Wayne Hodges introduced our speaker Mustafa Hadi, who is the president of the ACE Interact Club.  Mustafa was born in Iraq.  At 10 years old a bomb hit his house and killed his cousin and sister.  On his way to school one day a car pulled up and kidnapped him and held him for ransom.  He was one of 8 boys being held for 29 days.  He witnessed parents not coming up with the ransom money and a few boys being beheaded.  When it was his turn for his parents to come up with the money it was a miracle that he wasn't killed.  His family sold their grandparents land and borrowed to get him his freedom.  His father decided to get out of Iraq but when the visas came through it was for Mustafa and his mother only which left his dad there.  His aunt met him and his mother at the airport in the US and he did not speak English at all.  When he started school he had no friends and had a hard time communicating.  He ended up at the ACE school and now considers all his classmates not only his friends but his family.
His dream is to get an engineering degree and work hard to be a better person.  In 2 years he will become a US citizen.  He will never forget how much Rotary has helped him.
After his presentation our club honored him again with a $2500 scholarship to help him get started towards his dream.
President Ron closed the meeting at 1:30pm sharp.

Anyone complaining about this summary, does them thereafter,
