Visiting Rotarian Jeff Lichty reminded all about the exciting Rotary Peace Conference to be held 31MR-1AP17 in Ann Arbor. More information is available on the Rotary 2017 Peace Conference website.
Rodney Hulbert was happy that we could now watch programs on TV instead of 99% political commercials.
Rotarian Treasurer Vince Mattina announced that the Club was now able to accept credit card payments. Wayne Hodges volunteered to be the "guinea pig" and I am pleased to announce that Wayne survived the ordeal quite well.

SONGS
Bob Lytle lead us in two patriotic election day songs; "Always" and "Side by Side".

ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE
Dave Archbold introduced Eva Meis the visiting Youth Exchange student from Austria sponsored by the Rochester Rotary Club but living with a family in Clarkston. We learned that Eva's english has already improved dramatically, she is one of tripletts and enjoys baking and cooking, traveling, hiking, volleyball, skiing, ice skating. The new things she has enjoyed o date in  Michigan are, Halloween, Homecoming and Cookie Dough Ice Cream.

SHERIFF
The Real Deal" Chief Shettenhelm coerced $240 from the audience in true "Washingtonian" style be following the old voting advice to "vote early and vote often". Frank Rewold was fined for attending our meeting, Dave Archbold for being on time for the start of the meeting. A mysterious someone for impropriety in the administering the coveted 15th handshake. Since it was election day, it cost you $1 for each time  you voted, $2 if you were still undecided, $3 if you did not vote. Tim Crawford and Marty Pavlik paid an Insurance fine. David Blair paid a computer fine. If you wore Khakis you paid a Jim Harbaugh "running up the score" fine. Western Michigan grads paid dearly for their perfect record. MSU grads paid a smaller sympathy fine.
SPEAKER
Rotarian Vito Pampalona introduced Navy veteran Sheldon Ewers who was the recipient of the Guardian Angel Service Dog that was donated by the Rewold family in honor of long time Rotarian Roy Rewold. Yes the dog's name is Roy. Sheldon shared his gut wrenching story of how Roy helped him stop the nightmares, drinking excessively just to fall asleep and reclaim his life as a Husband, Father and Grand Father.
