Nicole Shogren - Oakland Youth Orchestra $2000 scholarship so students who cannot attend the program, can do so. OYO helps youth aged elementary - high school have a meaningful orchestral experience. The group can top out at 100 students and it uses various locations throughout Oakland County.
Eisha Branner - $3000 grant to eCommunity Outreach Services, a nonprofit that provides assistance to individuals and families in need. This grant will underwrite supplies like food, hygiene products, household basics, etc.
Linda Eastman - $5000 to help Casa Colibri to help underwrite a new vehicle. She will apply to the District to (hopefully) receive matching funds from the District.Sheriff Peter Stuhlreyer had a blast charging members for various fines.
- Vince - for parking a fancy corvette inappropriately -- however it was later revealed that the car was actually Ted's. Unclear who should pay the fine for that mistake -- Ted or Peter?
- Ron - for his phone going off audibly
- David Walker - for indecent exposure
- If you are a crabby, moody person - this is your month to shine and you owe a fine
- If you own a bike (in honor of RH receiving the award for being the 64th best city to live in and bike in) - you owe a fine.
Remember, these “fines” are all in good fun and serve a great purpose: building camaraderie and raising funds for our charitable efforts, especially scholarships. Let’s continue living out the Rotary motto, " Service Above Self," with enthusiasm, punctuality, and a healthy dose of Rochester pride and humor!

Today’s speaker was our new Rochester Rotary President, Rachel Aviles. She spoke on the theme of: where we are, where we are going, and how we are going to get there. She recounted the fact that Rochester Rotary is known around the world – and that we have national notoriety because of the wonderful awards, the charities and community foundations we have funded, and the camaraderie among our members.
