Thank you, Bob!

SHERIFF
Rochester Chief of Police Steve Schettenhelm was our sheriff today and offered wisdom and humor as he collected many fines in the areas of poinsettias, water spillage, errant cell phone ringing, clothelines, stepping in something, bush league, and boiled water and boilermakers.  $285 in fines was collected for Rotary Scholarships, bringing the YTD total to at least $3,450 toward our $11,000 goal.  PLEASE NOTE: fines are now $5.  Thank you everyone!

DISTRICT ROTARY FOUNDATION GALA, NOVEMBER 3
District Governor Jane McManus, who serves as our district's Rotary Foundation Chair, announced that November 3 is the date for this year's celebration, which will occur at Eagle Crest in Ypsilanti.

PROGRAM
Ron Lichtle introduced today's speaker, District Governor Jane McManus.  She spoke about this year's theme, Be the Inspiration.  She shared how many friends she met during the governor's training at the international assembly.  She sent our club greetings from the current RI President, Barry Rassin.  She spoke of two Rotarians who had inspired her along her journey, George H and John B.  Both helped begin the vision which became the Southfield Rotarty Club.  It is something she celebrates as she thinks of the power and connection of Rotary.  RI President Barry Rassin is inspiring all Rotarians to LEAP into Leadership (Love, Energy, Audacity, Proof).
She shared her two goals as District Governor: 1) strengthen the team and 2)growing people into leadership roles.
She also shared that the next District Conference will be at the Crowne Plaza in Downtown Detroit on May 3-4, 2019.
We so appreciated District Governor Jane and her husband Michael's presence with us to day at our meeting!
President Rodney closed the meeting at 1:30 p.m.
