SPEAKER
President Nominee Rodney Hulbert introduced substitute speaker Wayne Hodges who updated the Club on the status of our Youth Services activities. Wayne stated that although Rotary's youth activities may be a small number, in fact they are 100% of our future.

Through Interact, youth can:

  • Carry out hands-on service projects
  • Make international connections
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Have fun!
Rochesters's 4 Interact Clubs each earned Presidential Citations the last two years. In fact, in 2016, they were 4 of only 9 Interact Clubs to earn such distinction. Such success is due in no small part to the passionate support from the Rochester Rotary Club.  Wayne shared that Two Interact Clubs raised $1000 each and purchased Shelter Boxes to help the those dealing with calamities. The 3rd Club is working on such a goal for this school year while the 4th has committed to raise $2000 for a scholarship they want to award to someone from their school.
Rochester's OU Rotaract Club starts it's 3rd year with new leadership. New Student officers, New Faculty Advisor and New Rotaran Advisor. Again the ongoing support from the Rochester Rotary Club is making a big difference in our community.
