PROGRAM:
Wayne Hodges introduced our speaker for today. He introduced Robert Shaner who was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marines, was a police officer, was in the National Guard, received his Masters at Central, and his PHD from OU. He now runs Rochester Community Schools. Dr. Shaner is proud to work for a world class organization which is recognized regionally and across the state. They are also recognized nationally and has the potential for 3 national ribbons. They are the largest school district in Oakland County with a 96% graduating rate. 95% attend college. Their students rate in the top 12% with SAT scores in the state and 14% nationwide. He is proud that they have a sustainable budget and have put money back in the coffers 2 years in a row. He was extremely proud of their job shadowing and exchange student programs. Robert had a lot to say about how good it is working with professionals like our own Frank Rewold, and the architect French with the building programs.
Thank you Dr. Shaner as your program was extremely well done and very informative.
